Itaewon Class~ WARNING SPOILERS!

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Post two here I come!!

Now I will be speeding up the drama process, so we are fast-forwarding to today's hottest drama!

WARNING!!

THIS WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS! SO IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE DRAMA YET, I SUGGEST YOU NOT READ THIS.

Itaewon Class is the hottest drama at the moment for the year 2020, and I have to say this was a damn good show to watch! Being based on the Webtoon, this was one of the first shows where I thought the underdog plot was so powerful that it genuinely didn't need anything else. Especially with the main male lead being Park Seo-Joon! That in itself is explanatory.

From the very beginning, I found it kind of hard to get into only because my attention span is about the same as a goldfish lol, but after getting past the first few minutes that where the plot starts getting spicy!

This is where my first Pro comes in, the plot. Like I said at the start, it was hard to keep my attention on the show. Park Seo-Joon's character Park Saeroyi is the underdog. Saeroyi is just like every high schooler, except he is continually getting in trouble at school, which leads him to transfer schools, and on the first day... THIS BOY PUNCHES A STUDENT.

To add on his already sucky life. His father was killed in a car accident by a classmate, who he punched in trying to stop him and his bullying, but since money talks in Korea, it got covered up. Once, the word got to Saeroyi about his father's actual murderer.

This man took it upon himself to beat the little bit of melanin that the poor boy had out of his body. Now I'm all here for violence lol but dang he beat the boy senseless. This is where another Pro comes in, I actually loved the hate that Saeroyi had for the Jangga Co. family; like the CEO was shit his eldest son was shit, his younger son was shit, the girl that grew up with Saeroyi was shit. Like they were all shit!

Now, for my favorite Pro from this drama is the fact that they tackle social issues! This is where we introduce the real reason as to why I started watching this drama in the first place. KIM TONI!!!! But on a serious note.

While watching this drama, it shows how African American people are treated in Korea alongside with the homophobia and transphobia. These three things are not only important to me since I also believe that everyone deserves to have a voice regardless of their situations, but also since I know that the POC group and the LGBTQ+ community are the worst treated in the country.

So yes, this Pro is high on the list even though I started watching because of one person it gave me more reasons to watch the show. Now that the elephant is out of the room. Let's get to the cons!

My first CON!! So Yi-Seo. I swear to you I hated this girl with a fucking passion in my chest. Like at the start of the drama, she did everything wrong, from getting my boii Saeroyi in trouble, lying to him, then basically forcing herself on him the whole fucking drama which leads his ass to think he actually liked the damn girl... whew chile.

This girl is the biggest pain in the ass, bro. The reason one that she was doing too much was that she went to Saeroyi's bar KNOWING THAT SHE SHOULDNT HAVE BEEN THERE! As a result, the girl got my man's bar closed for two months. She kept telling Toni that he wasn't Korean! Like the man knows bitch, but his father is okay, so to him... he is Korean hop off his dick. She tried to get HyeonYi fired after finding out that she was transgender with the sorry ass base of " She can't cook!" GTFO.

EVEN THOUGH SHE DID SO MUCH AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SHOW... She did have a whole lot of improvement, character-wise, that I will say. She had a lot of character growth, using her platform on social media to out a popular club for not letting in middle eastern or African American people. When the article about HyeonYi came out, she made sure to call and check up on her. She cares in very different ways, and that's okay just as long as you care is all I'm saying, and the actress did an excellent job portraying that.

To get back on a happy note, my next Pro would be the music!! MY BOI V!!!! even tho his song got played like a max of one time. It was still beautiful! Lol oh, and let's not forget the main OST of the drama "Start!" That is my song!!! Every time it came on, I'm yelling along with the adlibs! Granted, they overplayed it, but you know a song hits different when its played fifty times over.

Sadly this is also apart of my Cons list. ONLY REASON why is because they only played my boii V like twice... HAVE YOU HEARD THAT MAN SING?! HE DESERVES MORE THAN TWO PLAYS!

My final Con for the drama is that between my friends and I, we felt like the drama was strong enough to stand on its own instead, it just had to end with a freaking relationship. Like yes, we get it YiSeo liked Saeroyi, but he never liked her back until she got kidnapped, and you can quote me on that. It took the poor girl literally telling him almost every day that they were working together that she liked him, and he constantly told her that he didn't feel that way towards her. He literally told her to stop saying that lol.

Even though I felt like Soo-ah didn't deserve him either! No one really deserved him to be honest, but that's for another conversation. That woman was in it for herself, bro, and you cant change my mind. She made her self out to be the victim when Saeroyi told her to do what she had to do. She kept making sure that he knew that she was working for the enemy company to help him... THE HELP HE NEVER ASKED FOR!!

Another thing was that when they were kids Soo-ah told him that they would never date, even as adults she said to him that she didn't feel the same way about my boii, but once Saeroyi even had the thought that he was starting to have feelings for Yi-Seo, Soo-ah just couldn't let him be happy.

A relationship in this show just dragged on the plot. Yes, it was in the Webtoon, but still, I feel like the story plot on its own was strong enough to just be on its own. It didn't need a relationship to keep people interested. Saeroyi building his brand up from nothing to something to take down the company who basically ruined his life was the best plot that someone could have, but somehow they felt that it still needed a love interest.

HONORABLE MENTION!!!!

The actors! Like the character of Park Saeroyi was made for Park Seo-Joon, and you cant convenience me; it wasn't!!! and don't get me started on Ahn Bo-Hyun!!!!!! BABEH!!!!!! I am in love with that man!!!!! The scene where he was working out in the jail cell * fans self* I was ready the lick that man everywhere! And don't get me started on the suites they were putting on him! YES TO THE COLORS!!!! THEY WERE VIBRANT! And he was so melanated!

It is clear to see that I have favorites, and yes, I love Ahn Bo Hyun, but h in the drama, he just needed a little loving lol.

Well, this has been a wild ride! A whole lot of ups and downs that I can say, but I hope this was able to figure out if you genuinely hated the show or just parts of it like I did lol.

Ratings~~

Plot: 100/10 The plot is freaking phenomenal! Like honestly, how can you be mad with an original come up story!
Characters: 6/10 ONLY BECAUSE I HATE SOO-AH and I feel very indifferent about Yi-Seo
Love Story: -55/10 This show never needed it!!!! and that's all I have to say.
Music: 5/10 V should have been played more than once, and that's on period! They also overplayed, "Start!" But it's still a great song.
Clothing: 7/10 They stayed putting my boii Ahn Bo-Hyun in so fits!!! and even though Saeroyi look like a rich homeless man, his outfits were still on point. However, for Soo-ah, her clothes were adorable, but everything was killed for me by the shoes! They never put her in a cute shoe!
Overall: 9/10 The love story wasn't needed at all, but it was still a bomb ass show to watch. Once it had my attention, it was hard not to finish it!
